Spring!

What a beautiful weekend we have had in Michigan! Today Ethan, Jim, Zero, and I went to Wilcox park to play and swing. It was a great time! Ethan had fun walking around outside and exploring.

Shoes!

I finally found shoes that fit his fat little feet! I have had the hardest time trying to find a pair of shoes (aside of his leather slip on shoes) that fit over the fatty top part of his foot- but tonight success was had at Target! They are a little big- but he'll grow into them. Ethan didn't know what to make of them, he had to learn to walk all over again- it was pretty hillarious!

First Date

A girlfriend from work and I decided to get a headstart on the whole dating sceen for our children and set them up on their first date. Ethan took Kylen to O'Charley's for a bite to eat. As you can see in the first photo he's a bit embarrased/shy becuase he spilled his water all of himself! (and his mother!).





It didn't take long for them to warm up to eachother, Kylen only let Ethan get to first base with her- good girl. Apparently in baby dating first base is checking out your date's teeth. Ethan approved.










I think Ethan likes her! He's doing his cheesy, gumpy smile! I think Kylen liked Ethan too! They will begin seriously dating when Ethan is 30 and decides to leave his mother (and father)- what a sad day that will be!

Walking in B&W

We are slowly baby proofing the house for Ethan as he explores his new world. He seems to be drawn to things he shouldn't touch (stereo, TV stuff, dog dishes, etc.). Yesterday I caught him putting a magnet from the fridge into Zero's water and then into his (Ethan's) mouth . . . yeah!

Little Baby Walking

Ethan started walking about two weeks ago. He is now to the point where he can cross rooms, turn around, walk with things in his hands, and almost seems to enjoy walking better than crawling! Our little man is really looking the part now!

Djembe Prodigy?

Francesca and Jarrod got Ethan a small Djembe drum for his birthday. Djembe is a form of African drumming, from what I gather. Jarrod plays in a djembe ensamble and is going to give Ethan lessons! When I got home from work today, this is what I saw- it was great! Francesca said that Ethan had been sitting on his drum for 20min. happy as can be! Every once in awhile he would bang on his drum- or Jarrod's- and we would clap and carry on, Ethan probably thought we were crazy!

His doctor said to introduce him to more textures (I've been kind of a nervous ninny when it comes to feeding him chunks of food). Anyway, we had pasta last night and I thought it would be a good time for Ethan to try some too. He seemed to enjoy it after his got over his initial shock of the these slippery things in his mouth!!

1 Year Doctor Visit

Last Friday Ethan had his one year checkup. He did very well and his doctor said he's "all boy" whatever that means! He has been making that funny scrunched up face lately when we take pictures, it's very funny! While we were waiting for the doc, he was exploring the office in just his coat- no shame! Ethan now weighs 24lbs, he is evening out a bit with his height and weight. He used to be off the charts, now I think she said he was in the 75% for Height and 85% for weight, or vise versa, I can't remember!

Ethan enjoyed the playing with the paper very much! He liked his gifts too :-)

Sugar overload! Ethan with his parents- he looks like he is going to throw up! (he didn't- thank goodness!)

It took him awhile to get into the cake. He was really into feeling his food and would squish the cake between his fingers. I think he enjoyed very much though!

First few bites of birthday cake . . . I don't think he knew what to make of it, he kept looking around with a fretful look on his face like he was doing something he knew he shouldn't be doing- but it must be okay becuase everyone is standing around me smiling . . .
